Ministry Mission and Vision

In 2014, we followed God’s leading and bought a sailboat. We had no idea the adventures that awaited us and all God had planned. In 2016, we headed south to warmer waters as Dennis’ Navy retirement became official. We began a work of assisting missionaries, pastors and other cross-cultural workers in Mexico and Central America. As this has grown, so have we. Ankyrios International became a 501(c)(3) in 2022 for the purpose of providing physical, spiritual and emotional support and resources to humanitarian and cross-cultural workers and their families around the world. We’re making more plans for the future and expanding to serve more workers in more places. Won’t you join us?

The mission of Ankyrios International is to fulfill the Great Commission, carrying the Good News to the ends of the earth, by encouraging and equipping missionaries around the world through pastoral care, discipleship, rekindling spiritual passion, providing ministry and leadership support and relief. We intend to come alongside missionaries and complement existing ministry efforts by sharing responsibilities and offering refreshing Christian fellowship. We will be working with various missions agencies to network and reach workers in need of assistance.

Our ministry verse is Hebrews 6:19‬, “We have this hope [in Christ] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul.”

Missionary work is physically, mentally and spiritually demanding. The nature of missions requires men and women who love the Lord and put him and others above themselves. As such, the potential for burnout is very high, especially in areas where there is little fruit and support. Many missionaries have furloughs and return home occasionally, but these trips are expensive and often leave mission work untended. Furloughs are often spent raising additional support and are therefore not refreshing and restorative. Our ministry would alleviate the need to leave the field by bringing relief to their doorstep. Unlike short-term missions trips, which often lay additional burdens on missionaries to play host and tour guide, we will come with no personal agenda beyond caring for the missionaries in meaningful ways.
